About SheOpens

SheOpens exists to carry the stories of Afghan women to the world — with their consent, and always for their safety — and to turn the world’s attention into real support.

Lapis & gold

Our colours are no accident. Lapis lazuli has been mined in the mountains of Badakhshan, in Afghanistan, for nearly six thousand years — a deep blue treasured across the world. The gold is the light: hope carried forward by the women whose stories live here.

How your support helps

Today you can stand beside Afghan women through a direct donation. In time, SheOpens will also offer their handcrafts for sale, and a way to back women starting their own small businesses.
